Dear Students,
I hope you had a fantastic time during the national holidays!
I’m writing to recap what we covered during our last sessions before the break. We completed Unit 2, which focused on the following:
- Ask questions and understand information: Develop skills to ask questions for clarification and understand simplified texts and assignments.
- Write structured sentences: Use basic connectives, write supporting sentences, and provide examples to strengthen ideas.
- Discuss past events and future plans: Talk about past events and express future intentions or plans.
The goals of the last lesson, due to the upcoming break, will be continued in our next session. On Monday, we’ll resume with the contents of Lesson 3. Please remember to review the handout for that lesson, as it’s important for the flipped classroom approach. This way, we can smoothly move forward to the next unit.
Lastly, a quick reminder: the Unit 2 Final Task, which is the verbal report on the assigned audios, will take place on Friday, September 27th, at the start of the class.

Dear Students,
I hope you're doing well.
Last week, we continued advancing in the contents of our current unit, which focuses on developing ideas through speech. We reviewed the course materials and worked on exercises aimed at strengthening these skills. The objectives of the unit are as follows:
- Express intentions and plans
- Write examples to support a sentence
- Understand plans and ideas about tomorrow or the next week
- Understand information about an assignment
- Create a study plan
In light of the upcoming break, we have collectively decided to adjust the schedule. The Unit 2 Final Task will now take place on September 23rd. During Week 5, we will concentrate on reviewing and reinforcing the contents and skills we are developing in this unit.
In our last session on Friday, after giving feedback for the first unit final task, we explored aspects of narration and discussed the differences in using the future tense with will and to be + going to.
Please review your notes and practice these structures, as they will be essential for the upcoming task.
Best regards,
Prof. Masías O.
