Important Information

PROCEDURE
1. Introduction – 2 minutes (1 minute per student max.)
• The teacher asks the students some questions in order to get them settled into the test.
• Both students actively participate in this phase so that it is as conversational as possible.

2. Long turn - 5 minutes (2,5 minutes per student max.)
• Students are given a random topic and they will speak for 1 to 2 minutes.
• Before they speak, they have 30 seconds to think about the topic.
• The other student can sit quiet and listen while this takes place —the other
student should participate in the extension phase.

3. Extension – 2 minutes (1 minute per student max.)
• The teacher must extend the discussion by engaging the student with a more in-depth question.
• Student B asks a question about student A’s talk on their topic —and vice versa.
