Dear all,
I hope all is fine,
This is to share the following information received:
Look forward should you have any questions
.
Have a lovely day.

Recap of Last week Session 7
Jordan Masias O. 7 Jun 202407/06/24 a las 12:45 hrs.2024-06-07 12:45:07 Class Summaries
Dear Students,
In our last sessions, we began with a warm-up activities that involved analyzing four phrases related to studies and scholarships. By changing the verb in each phrase, we explored how the functional-pragmatic meaning of the sentence was altered. This activity served as an introduction to discussing the language funbctions of talking about responsibilities and advice.
With the former, we examined the dimension of modal verbs, specifically focusing on structures using must, should, and have to. To aid in understanding, we used infographics to better explain the topic.
Following this, we conducted a listening comprehension activity. We concluded the session with a collective evaluation of our understanding of the content through metacognitive reflection questions.
Please review the material, and I look forward to seeing you in our next class.
Best regards,

Summary of our virtual class held on Friday, the 24th. 4
Jordan Masias O. 29 May 202429/05/24 a las 14:09 hrs.2024-05-29 14:09:29 Class Summaries
Dear Students,
I hope this message finds you well. I wanted to provide a summary of our virtual class held on Friday, the 24th.
We began the session by reviewing the details from our previous class to ensure everyone was up to speed. Following this, we conducted a brief group research into different formulaic approaches to paragraph and text composition.
After completing our researches, we shared our findings in a plenary session. This allowed us to compare and contrast the various approaches we had explored. Subsequently, I provided an overview of different structures of paragraphs, exploring the "Burger" model. We also explored the MEAL plan from Duke University and the RARE response model, which is used in some universities in the US.
To aid our understanding, I presented examples and reinforced the concepts with videos. We agreed that once the strike concludes, we will immediately proceed with the pending presentations.
Thank you for your active participation and engagement. If you have any questions or need further clarification, please feel free to reach out.
Best regards,
Prof. Masías.

Dear Students,
I hope this email finds you well. I wanted to provide a summary of today's virtual session and outline the preparations for our next class which will make use of Blended Learning and Flipped Classroom approaches.
In today’s session, we covered the "Burger Model" for paragraph writing. We started with a practical exercise on paragraph construction, followed by a review of phrases and idiomatic formulas for creating topic sentences, supporting sentences, and concluding sentences. We also reviewed your written work and provided feedback on the texts produced using this formulaic writing model.
We concluded the class with a recap by watching a YouTube video that explored deeper into the Burger Model, providing additional examples and insights.
As a reminder, our next session will also be held online. The presentations will begin next Wednesday 29th, so please prepare accordingly.
For the upcoming class, we will use the Blended Learning and Flipped Classroom approaches. Please complete the handout titled "Incoherent Sentence in Paragraphs.pdf," which is available in the Teaching Material section. Additionally, watch the video "How to Write a Good Paragraph?" using the following link: How to Write a Good Paragraph?. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L1J9ZPVydrc )

Hello everyone,
I hope you're all doing well! I wanted to give you a quick rundown of what we covered in our last classes and what's coming up next.
In our recent sessions, we went over the feedback from our latest evaluations and conducted a corrrection of our writing tests. After that, we kicked off Unit 4, where we explored the topic of making plans and how it relates to future tenses. You can find all the material you need for this unit on U-Cursos.
We also discussed the upcoming presentations, and all the details are posted in the "Material Docente" section on the platform. The presentation dates are available in the "Calendario" section on U-Cursos, so make sure to review them.
One more thing! For our next class, it would be great if each of you could bring a portion of your presentation already prepared. We'll provide feedback and you'll have a chance to practice before the actual presentation.
If you have any questions or need clarification on anything, feel free to reach out.
Looking forward to our next session!
Best regards,
Professor Masías .

Week 4, Class Summary 11
Jordan Masias O. 16 Abr 202416/04/24 a las 20:16 hrs.2024-04-16 20:16:16 Class Ssummaries
Dear students,
I hope you're all doing well. Let's quickly go over what we did in our last classes and the main things we covered.
Last week, we worked on different online tasks together, focusing on making our writing flow better. We looked at things like joining sentences, moving between ideas smoothly, and using words to connect our thoughts. You can find all the online ressources we used for this in the "Enlaces" part on U-Cursos.
We also talked about how we put words in the right order when we write sentences. This ties into our ongoing homework on the basic skills we need for writing effectively.
I also set some extra practice Homework for you to do at home, which you can find on the website. And I've put up some extra info and answers to questions people have asked in the "Novedades" section, so be sure to check that out too.
If you have any questions or need more help, just let me know. Keep up the good work!
Best regards,
Professor Masías O.
