René Larenas M. 19 Mar19 de Marzo a las 11:15 hrs.2024-03-19 11:15:19 Friendly Reminder
Dear Students,
This is a friendly reminder that tells you: 'Please consider bringing to every single lesson the following materials',
1. Bring your laptop, touchpad, notebook, etc. every single lesson (if possible)
1.1 If you cannot bring these, please be prepared to write in class (since we will be working under a workshop format)
2. Consider that we will be constantly having some little conversational exercises, so please, keep in mind that you will have to make arguments, and construct and give your opinions based on a premise (in the form of video essays, discussions, etc.)
3. It is strongly advised that you make use of monolingual dictionaries (English-English), only in case you don't understand the meaning of a word, refer to a bilingual dictionary (English-Spanish)
Thanks a lot for reading,
See you all next lesson
Best Regards

René Larenas M. 15 Mar15 de Marzo a las 17:33 hrs.2024-03-15 17:33:15 Formal Introduction to English 3 (A2+)
Dear Students,
My name is René Larenas Moyano, and I will be this semester’s 'English 3' (A2+), 1st Semester 2024 teacher. I want to tell you that you are very welcome to this course that will (hopefully) begin next Thursday (March 21st.) at the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences.
Now I will explain what is coming for us this semester,
(1) We will have #2 lessons per week, one every Thursday and the others for every Friday of this coming semester:
Thursdays: 04:30 pm - 06:00 pm [Clasroom 'E-305']
Fridays: 12:30 pm - 2:00 pm [Classroom 'E-303]
(2) For this Thursday (March 21st) the very first lesson will be dealing with administrative issues, while the second (March 22nd) onwards, will be focused on developing productive linguistic abilities (i.e. Speaking and Writing)
(2.1) Administrative Issues means; (2.2.1) Evaluations, (2.2.2) Evaluation dates, (2.2.3) Rubric criteria, (2.2.4) Rules and Regulations [Attendance], (2.2.5) Lesson Format and Teaching Methodology
(3) These lessons will be exclusively dedicated to you to work on some basic elements that will help with your communicative skills [Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking]. The idea is that you take this English course as a workshop, not a lecture
(3.1) We will, also, begin most of the lessons by having a little discussion [for the sake of practising your language productive skills] about a video or a topic I bring to the class.
(3) I beg you to please come to every single lesson you can and try to be on time [be as punctual as you can]
(4) Once every lesson is finished, I will upload 2 items to this platform,
(4.1) The teaching material (PPT file and an audio file), if required, and
(4.2) A 'Novedades' notification for you to have a more accurate description of what we will be doing in the next lesson
(5) Please take into consideration that a document has been already uploaded to the 'Material Docente' section:
(5.1) This document is called '2024_Ingles3_A2+_Programa_Syllabus.pdf' which is an extensive document that deals with the lesson's activities and the evaluation dates for this semester. Please take a look at it.
(5) Any questions you may have, either in English or Spanish, please feel free to write back. Answers will be delivered typically in English
Best Regards
Until our next lesson
